Dental Aligners: Dental aligners, also known as Invisible aligners, are a removable, clear plastic tray system designed to gradually help the patient’s teeth to straighten. Aligners are required in order to correct dental abnormalities such as: crooked teeth, overbites, cross bites, deep bites, or gaps between teeth.

Dental aligners are a cosmetic alternative to metal braces or invisible braces; they straighten your teeth in a discrete manner, are simple to use, and may be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. It also gives boon of a perfect smile to the patient.

Aligner Treatment: An aligner treatment is a type of orthodontic therapy that straightens the teeth and fixes bite problems by using clear, removable plastic trays called dental aligners. Most of the time, the following steps are part of the therapy process. The Dental specialist will use the 3D model to make a treatment plan and figure out how many aligners will be needed. These are custom made & are fitted to the patient’s teeth to ensure a snug and comfortable fit. The aligners are intended to shift the teeth gently into the ideal position in a gradual manner.

Monitoring: The patient must wear the aligners for approximately 22 hours each day and visit the dentist on a regular basis to monitor the progress of treatment and make any required modifications. Each Aligner has to be worn for around 15 days after which it will have to be replaced by an aligner which comes next in the series. Generally the total Aligner Treatment is completed between 6-18 months.

Why & when are Aligners removed: The patient is able to practice proper dental care and have the freedom to remove the aligners whenever it is necessary thanks to the fact that they are meant to be detachable. In order to maintain oral hygiene, orthodontic aligners need to be removed before eating & drinking very hot or cold liquids; while brushing, and flossing the teeth; at regular intervals the patient can visit the dentist for check-ups where the dentist will evaluate the patient’s progress and adjust the treatment plan.
